Choosing the Right Mirror

What size mirror do I need for my driveway?
There are two main factors for choosing a mirror size - viewing distance and traffic speed. We recommend starting with viewing distance to pick a base size, then adjust for traffic speed:
Viewing Distance:
  • 12" to 18" size: Best for indoor residential garage bays or small loading stalls and short narrow driveways.
    Viewing Distance: 70' to 95'
  • 24" to 32" size: Standard scale for blind commercial exits and residential driveways.
    Viewing Distance: 125' to 160'
  • 36" to 40" size: Large reflection mirrors designed for rapid-speed open highway intersections and blind corners.
    Viewing Distance: 180' to 250'
Traffic Speed:
  • 12" to 18" size: Low speed 6-20 mph.
  • 24" to 32" size: Moderate speed 25-45 mph
  • 36" to 40" size: High Speed 50-75 mph
Note: We would not recommend installing a mirror smaller than 32" for high speed traffic. a larger mirror will allow you to see further, giving you more time to make a decision.

Installation & Accessories

How do I mount my mirror to an outdoor pole?
Our standard Driveway Traffic Mirrors come with easy to install wall mounting J-Brackets (solid one peice with locking bolt). We offer an optional 3" Pole Mounting Pack utilizing heavy-duty U-bolts to securely tighten onto standard roadside poles.
Our High Visibility Traffic Mirrors come complete with a 3" Pole Clamp Bracket specifically for installing onto standards roadside poles. This robust non-slip system will not loosen in the wind over time.
